The Sahara is an artisan top level instrument crafted and sculpted 100 percent by hand.
Sahara produces an exceptionally wide tone with a super-rich EQ range. It’s also very dynamic yet well balanced and highly resonant. A super expressive instrument that blends perfectly in the mix without any of the usual “muddyness”.

The Neck:
Built out of 5 different pieces of wood, 3 maple and 2 walnut. The maple pieces are sawed in a flat-sawn cut while the walnut pieces in quarter sawn. Due to the large percentage of maple in this combination it shares a more elastic feel. Combined with the walnut quarter-sawn pieces it’s also very sturdy and will stay like that for a long time.
The Fretboard:
The Fretboard is made out of warm and rich Pau-Ferro quarter-sawn wood with an extremely straight grain line. Under it are installed two double expanding truss rods for phenomenal accuracy in neck relief tuning.
The Body:
is made out of one piece of super lightweight Swamp Ash wood for maximized tone depth. It also helped achieving a (5 string!) light weighting work tool fitted for long rehearsals and shows.
The Tuners:
The Tuners are Ultralight Hipshot USA for maximum tuning stability. These tuners are light weight and so help optimizing the gravitational center of the instrument and reduce neck dive.
The Pickups:
Coils Boutique Custom Funky Town HC – this set’s design was composed out of the Funky Town 4 String blueprints, the new modifications included a Soap-Bar design and a hum-canceling option.
The Bridge:
is Gotoh 404B0-5
Additional Features
This model contains much less electronic components than the average e.bass, only a little hidden Pickup Selector. The reason for this design is both my personal lack of need in the volume and tone options, and for maximizing the energy and frequency spectrum of the signal (by minimizing the “bleed” of the signal in the guitar’s potentiometers).
”In 95’ I got my first taste of the luthiery world, I was a young bass player and worshiped the more innovative bass players like Les Claypool. I was mesmerized by the fretless bass which was a very hard thing to get your hands on back then, so I turned to my mentor, Jacob Algranati, and asked him to build my dream guitar (Sinai – a true tonal wonder).

My only condition was that I’ll be a part of the making process, and soon I became his apprentice and started learning the profession’s secret. More than 23 years later, I felt the need to connect to my roots and build the new fretted version of Sinai, I named the new one Sahara as a tribute.
